This park is home to the big five, birds and is famously known for the Murchison Falls from which the park got its name. you will drive through the countryside towards the park crossing the Nile and arrive later in the afternoon. You will hike to the top of the falls on arrival and this will depend on time of arrival. Retire at the lodge later, have dinner over the campfire and spend the night.
Wake up to a tasty breakfast and proceed to the open savanna of this park in search of your favorite animals in a game viewing experience. Look out for the elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, duikers, bushbucks, Kobs, lions, leopards and many bird species as you drive through. Return to the lodge for lunch, and head out for an exciting boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The boat cruise is a great opportunity to watch the Nile as it forces its way through a 7-meter gorge before exploding to the bottom to make a large stream. You will enjoy watching the Nile crocodiles and hippos as they sunbathe and sometimes catch prey. Drive to the lodge later, have dinner and spend a night.
Have breakfast and drive towards Kibale National Park the primate capital of East Africa. You will have a stopover at tea plantations to have a taste of the locally processed tea and then proceed to Kibale arriving in the evening. Breakfast will be served early in the morning and head to the park for briefing with other guests on the rules for chimpanzee trekking. The park rangers will soon lead you to the park in search for habituated chimps. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you learn about their unique behavior in their natural habitat. Ensure to follow the guidelines taking pictures and videos and soon after this amazing experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch. Head out for nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will have a chance to watch some of the unique tree species and primates that you may have missed in the morning trekking. Retire at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in the southwestern side of Uganda. The 6-7 hours drive from Kibale Forest to Bwindi Forest will offer you excellent pre-gorilla trekking experiences such as scenic views of the rolling hills, ankole cattle farms, tea farms, banana plantations, and also a chance to interact with local people along the way. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After a tasty breakfast, you will head to the park offices where the rest of the tourists gather for briefing before the actual exercise. The park rangers will then lead you to the park to start the search for habituated gorillas. This experience of trekking through the forest may take any time between hours and a day depending on the movement of the Gorillas. Spend a full hour with the Gorillas after meeting them and thereafter return to the starting point to receive your Gorilla trekking certificate.
